Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) is rapidly becoming a breakthrough treatment for glaucoma patients who need safer, faster, and more comfortable surgical options. Compared to traditional glaucoma surgery, MIGS offers minimal tissue damage, faster recovery, and a significantly lower risk of complications, making it an excellent choice for early to moderate glaucoma.
On 9th November 2025, a new advanced MIGS device “Hydrus” was officially launched in India. Hydrus represents a major step forward in glaucoma treatment with its micro-invasive design, long-term pressure control, and improved safety profile.
Dr. Maneesh Singh was invited as one of the top glaucoma experts from East India to receive first-hand access and hands-on experience with this latest MIGS technology. He was among only 20 doctors selected across India to perform a wet-lab training on the Hydrus device. His participation highlights his mission to bring cutting-edge glaucoma solutions, modern surgical techniques, and safer treatment outcomes to patients.





Dr. Maneesh Singh was invited as part of an esteemed national Glaucoma Expert Panel to discuss the clinical benefits of a new preservative-free glaucoma medication.
This medicine has been launched for the first time in India, marking a major advancement in the treatment of glaucoma.
The preservative-free formulation offers a safer option for long-term glaucoma management, especially for patients who develop dry eye and ocular surface irritation with conventional drops.
It also provides excellent eye pressure (IOP) reduction with minimal side effects, making it highly beneficial for glaucoma patients who require prolonged therapy.
This breakthrough highlights India's move toward advanced glaucoma treatment, improving both disease control and patient comfort.
The OSWB Annual Conference 2025 was an enriching and unforgettable experience.
The academic sessions were truly insightful, especially the Glaucoma Symposium on Recent Advances, which highlighted the latest developments in glaucoma diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management.
The Innovative Wet Lab, Instruction Courses, and the Debate Session were highly engaging and extremely well-attended, attracting hundreds of ophthalmologists, post-graduates, and young surgeons eager to upskill. The Wet Lab offered hands-on exposure to glaucoma surgery, cataract surgery, phacoemulsification, and laser phaco techniques, and received tremendous appreciation from participants.

Founded in 2015, Kolkata’s Glaucoma Journal Club has emerged as a premier academic platform for advancing knowledge in glaucoma care. Since its inception, it has brought together the city’s leading glaucoma specialists to discuss latest publications on innovations in diagnosis, management, and surgical techniques.
Dr. Maneesh Singh along with few others has been instrumental in running the Journal Club since its very beginning.
What makes the club truly distinctive is its inclusive spirit—it not only provides a stage for eminent clinicians to exchange insights but also offers a nurturing space for young ophthalmologists and budding glaucoma specialists.


Dr. Maneesh Singh was part of the very innovative Glaucoma Case Carnival 2.0— an international academic program organized in collaboration with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
